I received my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic, on my twelfth birthday. It was a present from my father, and this agricultural little camera was probably the best birthday present I ever got. It taught me the basics of photography, and with the 26x26mm square format at least you never had to choose between portrait and landscape!
Since the advent of digital, photography has become more of a passion. I enjoy all genres, with a preference towards urban/street photography.
My choice of camera is influenced by a tendency towards minimalism. I have a severe disdain for more megapixels than is necessary, but I'd better shut up at this point before getting carried away. Suffice to say that the camera in my bag is a Pentax K100D. It has 'only' 6 megapixels but I find it entirely adequate. All images are captured as RAW and post-processed using Lightroom and/or Photoshop.
